Hi, we’re Tiny by Taylor – specialists in the design and build of recreational Tiny Homes for clients across New Zealand. We’re a passionate team with a goal to help more New Zealanders realise their Tiny Home dreams. Taylor, our Managing Director, is a qualified builder, based in Martinborough. He has over 12 years experience in the industry working across New Zealand, Canada, the UK and Europe on various projects, picking up and adopting innovative building techniques along the way. The idea of going Tiny came about whilst living in a caravan, working and surfing on the coast of Portugal. Life in a tiny space was simple, relaxing and stress free, we had everything we needed and nothing we didn't. We proudly build everything from the trailer to the roof! Why Tiny Homes?

Tiny Houses are not new to New Zealand nor the world but they are increasing in popularity immensely and it's easy to see why. More and more commoners are selling up their "mortgaged money pits", getting rid of their "things", living with minimum belongings and down sizing their property. Others are stuck in the "norm" paying forever mortgages on 3-4-5 bedroom houses they really don't need. 

New home buyers are using Tiny Homes as a stepping stone to the ever extending property ladder. For the price of a deposit on some standard homes in the big cities, a Tiny House is a perfect alternative and offers enough space for a young couple or even small family. You can afford your dream section now, place a Tiny House on the site and live in it forever or if Tiny house living isn't for you, sell up, move it off and build the house of your dreams.

No consent required - You will need to check with your local council but in most cases Tiny Houses made by Tiny By Taylor will not need a building consent as they are made on trailers to be easily transportable and fall within the rules and regulations of a light simple trailer.
